# Fedora 40 oddity

I’ve been building AppImages for years now, first time I encountered this one. The 3.6.5 image found [here](https://sourceforge.net/projects/reddiamond/files/Debians/) was built on Ubuntu 20.04. It works great in PCLinux OS with all updates. My Fedora 40 VM refuses to let it appear. I get the initial fresh start message about config file missing because it has to create it then nothing. Text editor does not appear. Seems to be a lot of disk activity going on, but nada. -C will kill it.

Just curious to see if anyone has encountered this? I’m not going to put effort into fixing it. 40 has been abandoned by Fedora developers. I need to spin up a 43 VM and see if problem persists. I don’t think it is a Fuse issue because it did I/O looking for the editor config file.

Will circle back once I have a 43 world to test in.
